My Life Journal
This photograph was taken by Miss Devika Shrikrishna Nadgauda.
During the rainy season of 2024, a rainbow appeared for the second time over the hills surrounding Pune, Maharashtra, India.
Every year during the rainy season, I witness beautiful rainbows from my home. Each time, it fills me with a feeling beyond words—a quiet sense of wonder and connection.
I stood by my balcony, the sunlight behind me, a cool breeze in the sky. Blue mountains rose above the clouds, green hills far into the distance, and below lay Pune city and the quiet town.
The blue sky spread wide, clouds drifting, their shadows moving gently over the hills and mountains. Sunlight fell over the landscape, touching it with a golden glow.
Then, it appeared—a tall, giant, perfect rainbow. A full circle in its true form, yet arching between the sky and the earth, from one side to another.
A rainbow does not exist without both raindrops and sunlight.
Its colors were vivid yet transparent, allowing me to see the world through it. The sunlight poured in front of the rainbow, blending light and color into a vision.
The rainbow felt near—so close, almost within reach.
I wanted to follow it, to step into its colors and see where it led. But I knew I could not follow a rainbow. A rainbow has no end.
So I stood still, watching. From the moment it appeared to the moment it disappeared, I was there—taking in its beauty, knowing that even after it faded, its presence would stay with me forever.
Perhaps that is the message the rainbow carries—a silent wisdom, a quiet assurance, a sign from providence.
